Description of Salt To Soul
Salt To Soul refers to the hostile world of war, injustice and destruction of our planet and the harassment of lives and people. It is a performance about dispacement and occupation, the struggle of refugees and those who are threatened by forced occupation of their homes. The title mentions salt, which represents a necessity of life and was a mineral that was used since ancient times in many cultures as a seasoning, a preservative, a disinfectant, a component of ceremonial offerings, and as a unit of exchange. Salt is great for skin exfoliation. The Bible contains numerous references to salt. In various contexts, it is used metaphorically to signify permanence, loyalty, durability, fidelity, usefulness, value, and purification. So Salt to Soul signifies history and culture to essence, an essence that belongs to all humanity and has no race.
