As a multidisciplinary artist, Matlakas also incorporates photography and digital collage into his work. By blending photography, digital collage, and painting, he creates surreal scenes that captivate the imagination. His projects began with self-portraits and soon expanded to include other participants, broadening the scope and depth of his artistic exploration

As AI continues to evolve, I have found myself closely observing how it replicates human creativity while maintaining a distinct, unmistakable AI aesthetic. This realization led me to explore a unique artistic approach—one that is entirely human-made yet deliberately evokes a sense of ambiguity about its origins. I wanted to create images that could spark doubt: are they AI-generated, or crafted through traditional means? In truth, they are created using photography—specifically selfies—combined with digital collage and the integration of vector illustrations.

Through this process, I blur the boundaries between artificial and organic creation. My work challenges perceptions of authenticity and pushes viewers to question their assumptions about visual art in the age of AI. More than just a technical experiment, my photography seeks to delve into the human inner world—exploring themes of self-reflection, transformation, and personal growth. Each image becomes a narrative of introspection, capturing the invisible yet profound process of inner development.
